Genevieve "Gennie" Gorback is an early childhood educator with a Master's of Education in Teaching from UC Santa Barbara. She is a curriculum writer for an early literacy app, the president of the California Kindergarten Association, and an education consultant.
Gennie writes across kidlit genres, but all of her work comes from a deep understanding of child development. She volunteers as her local SCBWI County Coordinator. She is a proud graduate of the Children's Book Academy, a member of the 12x12 Picture Book Challenge, and an active Storystorm participant. Gennie is the co-founder of two kidlit writing contests - The "Birthday! Birthday! KidLit Writing Contest" with her critique partner and birthday twin, Amy Leskowski and "The KidLitVibes Writing Contest" with her critique partners The Frenzy Friends.
Gennie is a recipient of a 2022-23 Highlights Foundation Scholarship and was a finalist for the 2022 de Groot Courage to Write Grant.
She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her college-sweetheart husband, two awesome daughters and two cuddly cats.
